Job Description:
The School of Music (SoM) Business Officer supports the SoM Business Manager within the College of Music and Dramatic Arts (CMDA) in daily business office operations to include procurement, expense report processing, reconciliation, travel coordination, and expenditures-monitoring based on budget as developed by the Business Manager in conjunction with the Director of the SoM. Performs day to day business office transactions to include University and Foundation expenditures. Maintains processes and procedures established by the SoM Business Manager for efficient business office operations.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:
- Process all professional services contracts including guest artist agreements and support guests/vendors through supplier registration procedures; coordinate and schedule all guest artist payments upon completion of event/performance; coordinate approval and payment of all music licensing/rental agreements; procure office and music supplies, and other items as needed through the Workday system and external vendors.
- Manage LaCarte spending for all SoM faculty and staff. Monitor and guide faculty, staff, and student compliance with financial procedures relative to travel and LaCarte policy. Run bi-weekly/monthly reports and communicate with cardholders regarding documentation needed for outstanding expenses.
- Process travel arrangements for faculty, staff, students, groups, and guest artists, including booking flights, lodging, and rental vehicles; event components, including refreshments, meals, and venues; and visitor reimbursements. Complete necessary Travel AS forms, spend authorizations, and expense reports in Workday.
- Assist the Business Manager in fiscal year-end duties to close SoM accounts; annually May through July. Maintain expanded purchasing authority for the SoM. Identify and attend University training as appropriate. Supervise SoM business office student worker(s).
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Other duties as assigned by SoM Business Manager and Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education Level: Bachelor's
- Specific Degree: Business, Accounting, or related field
- Years of Experience: 2
- Specific Experience: Two years of related accounting, budgeting, and/or business operations experience.
