JOB SUMMARY:
Under general/routine supervision, the Assistant Director of Broadcast and Multimedia Production will be the primary contact for all broadcast and video content produced by Niagara University Athletics. The Assistant Director will be the point of contact for ESPN and Niagara Sports Network (NSN) broadcasts. The coordinator will help create social media and promotional video content, while also assisting with operating the Daktronics video boards. Additionally, the position will increase the university brand recognition through athletics mediums.

50% Manage all broadcast productions for games on the ESPN Family of Networks and PurpleEagles.com
25% Assist with the creation of video content to promote programs and used on various media platforms
20% Attend athletic events (games, practices, etc.) to capture footage to be used to further promote athletic teams.
5% Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:
The functions of the position usually performed sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, cutting, labeling, and taping involve extensive wrist and hand movement. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Oversee execution of gameday and video production for all athletic teams and events
- Produce, shoot and edit video content to promote Niagara athletics via , social media, and video boards in the Gallagher Center and Dwyer Arena, including other media channels
- Create video content including hype and intro videos, feature stores, special presentations and fan engagement videos
- Serve as the liaison to the conference office for video streaming, ESPN and highlights.
- Plan, schedule, and execute requisite number of broadcasts for compliance with conference standards
- Host media days for all sport programs
- Assist with game day video operations, including in-venue video board production.
- Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to: student and employee personal information, student grades, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. Any question regarding the confidentiality of material, should be referred to the supervisor. Any violation shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment;
- Collaborate with Institutional Advancement, Student Affairs, and Mission/Ministry to advance communication strategy and social media interaction.
- Leverage internal and external partnerships and resources to support strategic university initiatives.
- Potential to assist with teaching broadcast classes at the university
- Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work non-traditional business hours.
- Ability to travel for extended periods when necessary.
- Ability to supervise part-time and student employees.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to handle various office machines including but not limited to: computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, copy machine and fax.
- Ability to receive telephone calls, respond to inquiries and communicate with others by telephone.
- Strong writing skills along with knowledge of layout and design.
- Knowledge of marketing, operations, and equipment management techniques.
- Knowledge of computer software applications, including Adobe Creative Suites
- Knowledge and interest in sports.
- Ability to carry 20 pounds of equipment and supplies to game sites.
- Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on a regular basis.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Master's degree in related field is required for teaching.
- A minimum of two years' experience in media relations or related field in college athletics is preferred.
- A valid New York State driver's license is required that satisfies both University and insurance company underwriting rules and regulations for driving a motor vehicle. Must also be able to operate a motor vehicle in Canada.
