Job Description Summary: As a Lead Content Strategist, you'll be a key driver of content strategy and editorial quality for multiple cross-functional product delivery teams, leading a team of Content Designers. Your vision will help uncover opportunities for boosting customer value and impacting business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead through craft and help grow a small team of Content Designers. Your craft is impeccable and seen as a beacon for less experienced designers. Inspire the team to evangelize for our customers, develop the information they need, determine when and how best to communicate with them, and how to do so with a trusted voice that makes them feel cared for and understood. You know how to be a change agent and steer the team in the right direction. Be a storyteller and help shape presentations and customer experience through stories and messaging strategies. Drive the definition of a clear and actionable strategic direction for content in your product area. As a lead, you're no longer just shaping experiences-you're defining the vision for how content will impact the product line goals. You're comfortable leading workshops that change how the organization solves problems and aligns with PayPal's long-term vision. You'll set content standards for the organization and possibly industry at this level. This role includes contributing to thought leadership, research, and advancements in design, creating frameworks and methodologies that become PayPal and industry standards. Use data and customer feedback to measure the effectiveness and of the content strategy and pivot as needed in real time. Work with the Content Community of Practice team to define, develop, and implement content strategy frameworks, toolkits and guidelines, with the aim of developing world-class experiences at scale. Coordinate content with Brand, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure we create a consistent end-to-end experience. Your collaborative efforts have tangible outcomes and you're often the catalyst for strategic alignment across various departments. Use data and research to evaluate your content's impact, and push for continuous improvement that shows real results. Be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, terminology, writing, and style. Reach across disciplines and departments to demonstrate how content can be used to create lasting and meaningful relationships with our customers. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience writing for multiple channels and platforms, such as websites, apps, email, and social media. You know how and when to use a particular medium. 3+ years of experience managing or mentoring writers. You see products and solutions as part of a customer's larger journey and you seek to deeply understand that journey through research and data analysis. You understand brand and marketing methodologies, but your real expertise is using design thinking in service of creating great products. You have a track record of positioning content as an engagement tool that transforms customer relationships. You have a history of knocking down organizational obstacles and building sustaining frameworks and partnerships. Experience in financial services, payments, B2B or B2C e-commerce is preferred.
