Job Description

The Technical Policy Writer is responsible for developing, writing, editing, and updating technical policies and procedures for the agency. This role requires a deep understanding of government regulations, technical standards, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and actionable documents. Examples of Work

Develop, write, and revise technical policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assist in the creation of Business Continuity planning and maintaining the plan Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather accurate information. Ensure all documents comply with relevant local, state and federal laws, regulations, and Clerk standards. Create user manuals, training materials, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Edit and proofread documents for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends and statutory changes. Provide training and support to staff on new policies and procedures. Manage documentation projects and meet deadlines. Performs other related job duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or comparable) Strong research and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proactive with the ability to take the initiative without daily supervision. Ability to work towards deadlines. A minimum of three years of professional experience in technical writing, policy writing, or related field is required. A Bachelors in English, Communication, Technical writing, or related field may substitute for professional experience. Preferred:

A bachelor's degree. Experience working in a government or military environment. Knowledge of legal and technical terminology. Experience with documentation management software. LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS

A valid Class E Driver's license is required to be maintained during employment. Must meet standards required to obtain a City of Jacksonville driver's certification. A FULLY COMPLETED ONLINE APPLICATION IS REQUIRED.
