This position will focus on creating compelling content and experiences that resonate with prospective students, alumni, industry partners, and the broader community. The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for writing and a strong understanding of storytelling. Applicants should possess extensive writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, easy-to-understand content and narratives from complex or specialized subjects. Strong attention to detail and the ability to simplify technical concepts for a broad audience are essential to this role. Responsibilities Maintaining and ensuring consistency in the school's brand identity, including brand guidelines, messaging, and visual assets. Develop compelling narratives highlighting the school's unique value proposition, achievements, and impact. Craft engaging stories about faculty research, student success, alumni accomplishments, and other relevant topics. Create a variety of content formats, including articles, blog posts, infographics, and social media posts. Ensure that content is aligned with the school's brand and messaging. Work closely with faculty, staff, and students to gather content ideas and ensure accurate information is shared. Assist in creating, editing, and distributing the college's email newsletters, website and blog content, etc. Assist in updating and maintaining the college's website pages. Work closely with the college's marketing and communications team to ensure consistent messaging across digital platforms. Support the team with various administrative duties as needed. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Chapman University, majoring in writing, English, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines. Ability to work with little supervision. Reliable and communicates well with the supervisor. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of higher education. Familiarity with engineering or technical fields. Community and/or customer service experience. Familiarity with branding and marketing principles. Familiarity with WordPress, Cascade, and other CRMs. Basic knowledge of design principles and graphic design tools. Special Instructions to Applicants Schedule is flexible and remote work.
