SUMMARY Assists in providing support for Agency social media and other marketing functions. Assists in development and design of Agency marketing campaigns with an emphasis on social media marketing. Assists in researching and developing content for the Agency's social media networks, explores new social media platforms for the agency for all Agency special events, human interest stories, press releases, retail promotions and sales. Maintains Agency website content. Schedules and coordinates appointments, meetings and departmental activities, gives information to callers, and performs other administrative support functions by performing the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Helps to research, design, develop and create social media and website content for the Agency's social media networks. Researches and collects information necessary to draft communications for advertising/marketing media as well as mission related human interest stories, feature articles and special promotions for Agency events. Reviews final drafts with Chief Information Officer and administrative personnel, as appropriate, for finalization and approval of all to be posted and written materials. Researches opportunities and logistics for social media collaborations and other promotions of Agency operations.Ensures that current Agency information is published to social networks and other online venues, as appropriate. Answers telephone and responds to emails and gives information to callers or routes to appropriate personnel.Perform other related essential duties as required or directed.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in a related field; one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instruction manuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creative writing skills and use of proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust have experience and proficiency with Graphic Design and Marketing, and possess ability to prepare social media content with the help of Adobe Creative Cloud and is proficient in web technologies. In addition, must have thorough knowledge of Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher), as well as experience with general web technologies and social media platforms. SPECIAL CERTIFICATION/LICENSINGMay be required to use a personal vehicle on occasion for business purposes. Must maintain current CT driver license, in good standing, registration and insurance coverage.
