Position Summary The Assistant Editor is responsible for research, editing, and production of publications generated by the museum, both exhibition-related and general. This individual supervises interns and students within the department and reports to the director of communications/editor.

Demonstrated abilities in writing, interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Ability to maintain budgets, timelines, and inventory of publications.
Physical Demands
Sitting for long periods of time at a computer terminal.
Lift boxes weighing approximately 35 pounds.

Duties/Responsibilities Serves as editor of museum's newsletter (set story budget and deadlines; obtain images; writes as necessary; work with designer and printer; make sure copies are distributed via mail and elsewhere).

Duties/Responsibilities Serves as managing editor of museum's blog: assigns stories, edits, adds to Wordpress website, ensures that they have photos, and writes as needed.
