Sr. I&E Designer - Mont Belvieu

Burrow Global is looking to hire two experienced Sr. Instrumentation & Electrical Designers for a long-term assignment with an oil and gas company in Mont Belvieu, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee project design and drafting management, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company protocols for successful project execution.

Specific tasks include:
- Assigning tagging numbers for electrical equipment and instruments.
- Assigning conduit and cable identification numbers.
- Resolving issues related to drawing development.
- Updating record drawings.
- Preparing process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and lists of equipment and instruments for various construction projects involving plants and pipelines using Autocad and CadWorx.
- Assist in developing project scopes, engineering/design scopes, and construction scopes of work for contract establishment with third parties.
- Participate in project meetings to understand customer requirements and scope definitions, providing technical insights for effective design solutions.
- Review man-hour estimates and work schedules to ensure project execution efficiency.
- Coordinate the distribution of design packages to ensure stakeholder input and information exchange.
- Provide design and drafting services for time-sensitive and budget-critical projects, including preliminary development of potential projects.
- Communicate with vendors to obtain material quotes and assess availability.
- Create parts lists through material take-offs to ensure timely procurement of items and develop material data sheets.
- Generate material requisitions for project manager approval.
- Maintain documentation and correspondence related to technical design issues throughout project development.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of company standard drawings.
- Stay up-to-date with design and drafting expertise, ensuring access to specialized resources and technology.
- Assist in developing and implementing specifications and procedures to reduce costs in the creation and maintenance of drawings and documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, purchasing agents, inspectors, and engineering and construction contractors on design content, materials, and construction challenges.
- Work closely with project managers and engineering teams on design and logistical issues to ensure efficient project progression.
- Provide drafting support for daily operations and coordinate with CADD operators.
- Guide team members in utilizing department tools and methods to obtain necessary information.

Educational Requirements:

- Associate’s degree in drafting or design.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Instrumentation & Electrical Design using Autocad and CadWorx.
- Active TWIC Card is required.

Travel Requirements:
Candidates must be willing and able to travel by air and/or automobile to facility sites as needed.
