Salary: $150,000 - $225,000

The Senior Business Development and Marketing Manager is a key leader within the Marketing Department, acting as the primary liaison for high-revenue practice and industry groups crucial to the firm's success. This role involves developing and executing strategies and business plans that align with the group’s business goals. This manager actively learns about the services, lawyers, and clients of the assigned groups, leading initiatives to enhance client knowledge and foster cross-selling. They may supervise and mentor junior team members, setting high standards for service delivery. The role requires building strong relationships within the Marketing Department and across the firm globally.

Ensure a coordinated and appropriate mix of marketing and business development activities to support business objectives. Lead and contribute to practice/industry group meetings and planning sessions. Manage and contribute to RFPs, pitches, and other business development projects. Develop and refine processes related to business development infrastructure, ensuring efficient use of technology and resources. Leverage market knowledge to drive strategy and distinguish service offerings. Facilitate planning and implementation of new business or cross-marketing opportunities. Advise on the business development and marketing budget, providing guidance on ROI evaluations. Lead profile-raising activities, including submissions for rankings, surveys, sponsorships, and programs. Participate in hiring, managing, and developing staff, overseeing daily operations and performance evaluations. Delegate work efficiently to team members. Collaborate with leaders and business professionals on cross-practice and cross-functional projects. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Minimum of 10 years of professional marketing, business development, or relevant experience. At least 4 years of direct personnel management experience. Deep market knowledge in assigned practice areas/industries. Excellent writing, proofreading, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to present to management and peers. Experience with sensitive or confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Preferred: Experience in marketing, business development, or strategic planning within a law firm or professional services organization. Advanced degree in marketing, law, business, or communications (M.B.A. or J.D. preferred). Familiarity with customer relationship and experience management databases (e.g., InterAction, Salesforce). Knowledge of market research tools and law firm rankings, awards, and league table publications.
