Overview
Sarah Coe Design, an award-winning luxury interior design and build firm is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of design experience a passion for transforming spaces and a strong understanding of design principles. This role requires proficiency in design software and a keen eye for color theory, as well as the ability to manage budgets effectively. The successful applicant will be part of the design team and will collaborate with Sarah Coe, the other designers, vendors, contractors, and clients to find solutions that accomplish the clients’ design goals. The successful applicant needs to be motivated, highly organized, and have a positive attitude. The position is full-time and in-person at The Design Studio by Sarah Coe Design in historic downtown Glen Ellyn, IL. Responsibilities Collaborate with clients to determine their interior design needs and preferences. Develop design concepts that reflect the client's vision while adhering to budget constraints. Utilize software such as Adobe, AutoCAD, and Sketchup to create detailed design plans and presentations. Select appropriate materials, furnishings, colors, and finishes that align with the overall design concept. Prepare project timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception through completion. Oversee renovations and construction processes, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to design specifications. Conduct site visits to assess progress and make necessary adjustments throughout the project lifecycle. Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution. Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and innovative design techniques. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in design software including Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and Sketchup is essential. Strong understanding of color theory and its application in interior spaces. Experience in budgeting for projects and managing costs effectively. Excellent communication skills with a focus on client interaction and sales capabilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
