About the Role
The Company is seeking an EVP, Legal, Head of Studios and Networks to join their dynamic team. This executive will be responsible for overseeing all legal support for the Studios and Networks divisions, providing executive-level leadership, and managing a global team of attorneys and legal professionals. The role involves strategic planning, implementation of new policies, and serving as the primary legal advisor to the Studios and Networks C-suite. The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to provide practical and creative legal solutions, as well as the capacity to influence and collaborate effectively both internally and externally. The EVP, Legal, Head of Studios and Networks will also be expected to champion the company's guiding principles and support its commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce. The ideal candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school, be a member of the California State Bar in good standing or willing to qualify as Registered In-House Counsel, and have a strong background in production, licensing, labor relations, and entertainment transactions.The successful candidate will be a seasoned attorney with a minimum of 25 years' of experience, including at least 10 years' in the media, entertainment, and/or studio industry. Key qualifications include the ability to lead in a highly matrixed environment, excellent people management skills, and a proven track record in building and motivating high-performing teams. The candidate should have a broad knowledge of the entertainment industry, including current and emerging legal trends, and be adept at handling complex business matters. A collaborative approach, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines are essential.
