The Library has full-time needs in OER, instruction, and outreach as well as full-time needs in acquisitions and cataloging. All applicants invited to interview will provide a teaching demonstration as part of the interview.The library’s needs in reference and instruction include providing high-quality course-integrated instruction tailored to the discipline, course, and assignment; providing high-quality reference and research assistance to a diverse population; and coordinating the library instruction and reference programs. The library’s OER needs include collaboratively coordinating, promoting, and assessing campus-wide textbook affordability initiatives—such as the AA in Liberal Education Z-degree—in partnership with faculty, administrators, and staff; guiding faculty in discovering, using, or creating OER for their courses. The library’s outreach needs include collaboratively planning and implementing campus-wide programs and events to promote library services and resources.The library’s acquisitions and cataloging needs include establishing and directing workflows for print, electronic, and audiovisual materials; working with vendors to procure resources including negotiating contract terms; creating and implementing cataloging practices in keeping with evolving standards and best practices including creating local headings. Acquisitions and cataloging work is supported by one Acquisitions Specialist and one Cataloging Specialist.Librarians work together to develop and execute library work plans, policies, and procedures. The successful candidates will be service-oriented, flexible problem-solvers with an understanding of how all areas of librarianship contribute to the success of students and faculty in teaching and learning.The Library supports the college’s goal of achieving racial equity in educational outcomes and experiences. The individuals hired will be expected to engage in this work across the college, in the Library, and in the classroom (e.g., attend campus trainings, identify and work to resolve barriers or inequities in library services including reparative cataloging, employ culturally responsive teaching practices, etc.). Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent degree.To be qualified for this position, you must meet all of the minimum qualifications. Those who are invited to interview will be required to provide a teaching demonstration as part of the interview.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience with any combination of the following: open educational resources, copyright, open licenses, Creative Commons, knowledge of relevant technologies, platforms, or tools for managing and disseminating OER. Demonstrated experience with open education and textbook affordability initiatives.Demonstrated experience with library acquisitions, including creating purchase orders, invoices, and managing a budget. Demonstrated experience maintaining vendor relationships and negotiating contract terms. Experience working with financial software like Workday Finance and the acquisitions module in the Alma integrated library system. Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging cataloging systems, rules, and best practices (e.g., LC Classification, RDA, BIBFRAME, etc.) and how they impact the end-user experience. Demonstrated experience setting local cataloging practices, implementing cataloging changes, and developing and directing cataloging projects. Demonstrated experience cataloging including print, online, and audiovisual materials – especially cataloging to meet the needs of students and faculty. Experience working with the resource management module and bibliographic record editor in the Alma integrated library system and with other library-specific technologies like OCLC Connexion and ClassificationWeb. Experience working in academic libraries including experience with outreach and engagement.Experience working with diverse populations.Demonstrated ability to foster partnerships and collaboration across departments or organizational units.Teaching experience.Demonstrated knowledge of current methodologies and pedagogy in information literacy and research instruction, reference, and student learning assessment.Experience with, or knowledge of, instructional, communication, or graphic design technologies to develop online tutorials, guides, videos, or other instructional materials.Demonstrated experience, or knowledge of, providing in-depth research assistance in person and virtually.Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and professional development in librarianship.
