Position Overview:

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Vice President of Brand Marketing to lead and elevate our brand, messaging, communications, and go-to-market strategies. The VP of Brand Marketing will be responsible for positioning Pit Viper as the leading brand in the premium eyewear market, creating an engaging and authentic brand story, and ensuring seamless communication that resonates with our global audience.

Our ideal candidate will have a depth of experience in leading the marketing efforts of strong brands. This person will understand the intricacies of balancing a brand largely driven by DTC with a growing omnichannel business. They will have a proven track record of successfully bringing products to market, supporting existing product lines, and launching and tracking effective top-of-funnel brand campaigns. The best candidate will have a deep understanding of the eyewear industry or a similar industry.

Along with all of this, the right fit for the job will find humor in the little things, will know that it is important not to take themselves too seriously, and will laugh at the CEO's bad jokes.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Brand Marketing Team:

At Pit Viper, the VP of Brand Marketing is responsible for top-of-funnel efforts with the marketing team, creative assets with the art team, and social media engagement with the social media team. Set strategy for top-of-funnel efforts such as event activation, collaborations, partnerships, and athlete sponsorships. Guide an Art Director and work closely with them to build assets that establish a clear brand identity that is uniquely fun and compelling. Lead a social media team on unique engagement strategies to grow Pit Viper's influence across prioritized platforms. Partner closely with the VP of Ecommerce and ensure that top-of-funnel efforts match the performance marketing and conversion-based efforts of that team.

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and drive a comprehensive brand marketing strategy that aligns with Pit Viper's mission, vision, and growth objectives. Collaborate closely with executive leadership to refine and evolve the brand's identity and positioning to drive new consumers to Pit Viper. Champion the brand's voice and ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and visuals across all marketing and communication channels.

Brand Management:

Oversee the creation, execution, and enforcement of brand guidelines to maintain a unified and recognizable brand identity. Lead creative initiatives and campaigns that amplify the brand's core values of fun, innovation, style, and value. Partner with the product development team to ensure new collections align with brand strategy and market trends.

Communication Oversight:

Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies, including internal and external messaging, and PR campaigns. Create and maintain impactful relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers to increase brand visibility.

Marketing and Content Strategy:

Oversee the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that leverage both traditional and digital media. Drive strategy across social media, field marketing, and retail marketing to engage and attract new audiences. Analyze consumer feedback and market trends to optimize content and campaign effectiveness.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of brand strategists, marketing professionals, content creators, and communication specialists. Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and professional growth. Establish clear KPIs for the team and monitor performance to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, most importantly the Ecommerce team which houses website development, merchandising, and performance marketing, including sales, product, customer service, and finance, to create a cohesive brand experience. Partner with external agencies and vendors to support campaign execution and brand initiatives. Cultivate partnerships with key influencers, brand ambassadors, and strategic partners that align with the brand's identity and growth strategy.

Performance Measurement:

Develop and implement metrics to track the effectiveness of brand and communication strategies. Regularly review brand performance analytics and adapt strategies based on insights and performance data. Provide comprehensive reports to the executive team that detail campaign outcomes, consumer sentiment, and ROI.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA is a plus. Experience:

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or communications, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the fashion, lifestyle, or consumer goods industry. Skills and Competencies:

Exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. Strong leadership and team-building capabilities. Proven ability to build and execute integrated marketing and brand campaigns. Excellent communication, public speaking, and storytelling abilities. Deep knowledge of digital marketing strategies and trends, including social media, influencer partnerships, and e-commerce. Experience with media relations and crisis management. Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making. A passion for fashion, design, and the sunglass/eyewear industry.
