Description

Carrier Vibrating Equipment (CVE), a division of Carrier Process Equipment Group (CPEG), is a Louisville, KY based company specializing in material handling and processing equipment. We are looking for the BEST Controls/Instrumentation Engineer in the business.

This role will prepare control panel design drawings, PID and PFD drawings and assist controls engineering department with various technical tasks. This position reports to the Controls Engineering Supervisor.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

What you'll do
  • Produce electrical and process drawings for industrial control systems.
  • Develop estimates or manage estimate process for controls related hardware.
  • Select or advise on appropriate instrumentation.
  • Provide technical consultation to in-house departments and to customers.
  • Maintenance as required to standard control drawing packages.
  • Review Inquiry and Order specifications specific to controls.
  • Work on multiple projects in various phases.
  • Complete documentation requirements per customer specifications.
  • Assist with equipment start-up either remotely or at the job site.
  • Documentation of jobs and projects.


Requirements

  • Education: BS Electrical or Technical degree in a field related to electrical drafting.
  • Licenses/Certificates: Driver's License
  • Experience: 3 years of previous relevant experience.

Skills
  • Technical skill and knowledge of controls engineering.
  • Initiative in solving problems.
  • Excellent communication skills - must interface with other departments, sales representatives and customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize.
  • Mature working knowledge of AutoCAD electrical.
  • Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to produce electrical drawings from scratch.

Physical Demands
  • Some medium lifting (40 lbs.), stair climbing, crouching, etc. may be required when working in the laboratory, shop or customer plant.

Other
  • Occasional domestic and international travel as needed (2 days - 1 week duration typical - 10% of time).
