Position Summary:

This position is responsible for defining and delivering the global commercial product strategy and results for Dexcom’s commercial partnerships (AID, digital health). Additionally, this position is responsible for close collaboration with all product marketing leads (G-Series & Dexcom One) to ensure optimal life cycle management plans and delivery to ensure ongoing commercial product success.

The Head of Product and Channel Marketing – Partners is wholly accountable for the end-to-end success of partnerships worldwide and will work in a highly collaborative way with teams across functions and geographies to inspire alignment of product strategy, track successes and failures, share lessons learned, and continuously and proactively work to accelerate Dexcom’s partnerships.

This leader understands the broad definition of “customer” as decision-makers who influence choice for Dexcom products and takes responsibility for setting marketing strategies to drive demand across partnerships and geographies. This leader has a deep understanding of relevant market space, products and services, competitive offerings, and relevant healthcare industry trends, and is the internal champion for Dexcom’s Partners.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • In conjunction with the product and channel marketing leads, and with deep marketplace insights, establish long-term and short-term strategic product development plans to deliver product sales and share commitments across all partner customers.
  • Partner with Product Management in the development of product requirements, priorities, and plans to achieve commercial objectives for applicable products; represent the worldwide and cross-channel “voice of the customer.”
  • Align the organization leadership on product plans and programs, both short- and long-range, to support the company objectives.
  • Partner closely with Market Research and Market Analytics functions to analyze results and drivers and to continuously understand technological, demographic, competitive, health economic, and other macro factors impacting market opportunities and risks for Partners.
  • Determine factors/attributes that drive customer decisions and identify opportunities for Dexcom to demonstrate differentiation on these most important factors. Clarify the unequivocal promotable advantage for Dexcom.
  • Identify the required product data and evidence generation needs to support product differentiation and promotional claims, and collaborate effectively across clinical, market access, legal, regulatory, and other functions as needed to ensure market-leading evidence generation and dissemination supporting Dexcom.
  • Proactively identify, recommend, and implement programs to maximize the Dexcom results opportunity for our products, with a clear awareness and management of how choices for the Dexcom products impact other Dexcom portfolio products.
  • Work closely with the User Experience Team/Cx, Program Management, Legal, Operations, Regulatory and R&D teams to incubate new ideas into viable business opportunities, claims, and product or service offerings.
  • Partner closely with sales/revenue teams worldwide, and with Product Management and Design to lead launch readiness and implementation for new features and products.
  • Determine agencies and suppliers of record for marketing materials to be used across customer groups, geographies, and channels, and negotiate contract terms and conditions for major services.
  • Serve as liaison with outside agencies as required.
  • Determine the optimized marketing spend mix across channels, media, and geographies, and continuously evaluate results/impact and take corrective action to maximize impact of all marketing and commercial spend for Partners.
  • Demonstrate the need/level of investment to optimize Partners, working closely with Market Insights/Analytics and Finance functions to demonstrate sound business cases for investment.
  • Manage quarterly and annual budgets for Partners marketing investments.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with quality standards and requirements as documented.

In addition, the ideal candidate should bring the following function-specific capabilities and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and MBA preferred.
  • Typically 15+ years of marketing experience with at least 5 years of experience in diabetes and/or medical device marketing in a downstream role.
  • Typically 9+ years of successful leadership experience.
  • Must have deep knowledge of product marketing, market research, business strategy, product development, product design, partner management, and clinical outcome studies.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and use influence management effectively with cross-functional partners and senior management.
  • Strong communication skills, high energy; executive presence.

Location and Travel Required:

  • The position is based in San Diego, CA, with global responsibilities, and requires at least 25% travel, depending on candidate’s home location. Dexcom supports remote work for employees. At the same time, this pivotal leadership role must have the ability to be present in San Diego offices at least 25% of the time, and travel as needed to customer-facing and internal meetings worldwide.

Exempt Salary Details:

The annual base salary range for this role is $149,000 to $248,300. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs, and market demand.

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of industry experience.
  • 9+ years of successful management experience in the relevant industry.
