Responsibilities
- Proposal Development: Lead the writing and development of comprehensive, high-quality proposals in response to federal government solicitations. Ensure all components of the proposal (technical, management, past performance, pricing, and administrative sections) align with RFP requirements and company capabilities.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure that all proposals meet compliance standards, formatting guidelines, and instructions outlined in the RFP. Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with solicitation requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), business development, project managers, and the legal team to gather necessary information and technical details for proposal content. Coordinate with team members to ensure timely submission of complete proposals.
- Proposal Strategy: Assist in the development of proposal strategies, including win themes, pricing approaches, and technical solutions. Provide input on how to best present the company's strengths and differentiators in each proposal.
- Proposal Editing & Proofreading: Edit and proofread proposal documents to ensure proper grammar, style, and consistency in messaging. Ensure that technical content is presented in an easily understandable manner.
- Proposal Schedule Management: Develop and manage proposal timelines, ensuring that all team members meet internal deadlines and that proposals are submitted on time.
- Research & Data Collection: Conduct research to support proposal content, including gathering relevant government regulations, procurement guidelines, and competitor information. Stay current on industry trends and federal procurement policies.
- Proposal Submissions: Prepare and format final proposals for submission via electronic and physical channels in accordance with government guidelines. Track and maintain proposal records and ensure all submissions are compliant.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the proposal process by identifying and implementing best practices, lessons learned, and new strategies to increase win rates.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in proposal writing, with at least 2 years focused on federal government contracting proposals (e.g., proposals for DoD, GSA, or other federal agencies).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Writing Skills: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce high-quality, persuasive, and technically accurate proposals.
- Knowledge of Government Contracting: Familiarity with the federal procurement process, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement), and other applicable government contracting regulations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring all proposal requirements are met and documents are free of errors.
