The Role: Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel to join one of our esteemed clients. This role provides a unique opportunity to advise businesses across a wide range of industries on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns, contributing to impactful and innovative strategies while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

In this role, you will:

• Advise on Compliance: Counsel clients on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
• Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Prepare agreements for ad agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying.
• Review and Analyze: Ensure ad copy complies with false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights laws.
• Counsel on Marketing Initiatives: Provide legal guidance for contests, sweepstakes, price advertising, subscription models, and loyalty/rewards programs.
• Support Legal Defense: Represent clients in disputes involving false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who bring:

• Experience: At least seven years of experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.
• Educational Background: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Skills: Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large or medium law firm and admission to the Washington State Bar (preferred but not required).
