The Role: Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel to join one of our esteemed clients. This position offers the chance to work with businesses across various industries, providing strategic legal guidance on marketing and advertising initiatives while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

In this role, you will:

• Advise on Compliance: Provide counsel on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
• Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Prepare agreements for ad agencies, influencers, endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying.
• Ensure Compliance: Review advertising copy to align with false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights laws.
• Counsel on Marketing Initiatives: Offer legal guidance on contests, sweepstakes, loyalty programs, subscription models, and pricing strategies.
• Support Legal Defense: Represent clients in disputes involving false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience: At least seven years of relevant experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, or marketing transactions.
• Educational Background: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Skills: Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large or medium law firm and hybrid work availability. Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred but not required.
