The Role: Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel to join one of our esteemed clients. This role offers the chance to guide businesses across diverse industries in developing and executing impactful marketing and advertising strategies while navigating complex regulatory frameworks.

In this role, you will:

• Advise on Compliance: Provide counsel on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns to meet state, federal, and international legal standards.
• Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Create agreements for ad agencies, influencers, endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying.
• Ensure Compliance: Review ad copy to align with laws related to false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights.
• Counsel on Marketing Initiatives: Guide clients on contests, sweepstakes, loyalty programs, subscription models, and pricing strategies.
• Defend Clients: Represent clients in disputes involving false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience: At least seven years of relevant experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, or marketing transactions.
• Educational Background: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Skills: Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large or medium law firm and hybrid work availability. Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred but not required.
