The Role: Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel to join one of our esteemed clients. This role offers the opportunity to work with businesses across diverse industries, providing strategic legal guidance on advertising and marketing campaigns while navigating complex regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will:

• Advise on Compliance: Counsel clients on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
• Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Prepare agreements for ad agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying.
• Ensure Compliance: Review ad copy for adherence to laws related to false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights.
• Guide Marketing Initiatives: Provide legal support for contests, sweepstakes, price advertising, loyalty programs, and subscription models.
• Defend Clients: Represent clients in disputes involving false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience: At least seven years of experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, or marketing transactions.
• Educational Background: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Skills: Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large or medium law firm and hybrid work availability. Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred but not required.
