Unreal Lighting Artist
Evil Eye Pictures is looking for an experienced Unreal Lighting Artist. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of professional experience in film, television and/or AAA games, with at least 2 years experience working with Unreal. The candidates should thoroughly understand visual effects and/or games pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and design lighting for complex scenes in Unreal Engine, owning both the technical and creative problem spaces
- Work closely with directors and supervisors to develop cinematic lighting solutions, which capture the vision laid out by the client
- Translate 2D concepts into final lighting solutions and renders
- Look development of assets, environments, and FX elements
- Identify problematic shots and offer creative or technical solutions
- Oversee and help optimize shots for rendering
- Communicate with team members in all departments
Requirements:
- Experience with Unreal Engine lighting techniques and solutions
- Proven track record with photoreal and full CG lighting for film, television and/or games
- Knowledge of a variety of lighting techniques and tools in Unreal (Lumen, Raytracing, Megalights, Nanite, Materials)
- Detail-oriented both in work processes and ability to QC work
- Understanding of optimization and performance profiling
- Willingness to take direction and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to problem solve and propose workarounds for creative and technical challenges
- Time management skills; working to production schedules and communicating blockers to department leads and production.
Good to Have:
- Experience with Maya, Houdini, Blender, Nuke or equivalent DCC
- Knowledge of blueprints and automating workflows in Unreal
- Experience in compositing and paint
- Knowledge of an asset manager such as Shotgrid

This is a full-time position. This position is remote as we support a Virtual Studio.

CA Pay Transparency Information:
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Evil Eye's benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
Base Pay Range $75k - $130k
