Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The Tacoma Rainiers are hiring a Team Broadcaster and Communication Specialist that will report to the Director of Media Relations and Baseball Information and the Vice President of Marketing. The Team Broadcaster and Communication Specialist will be the lead radio broadcaster for the organization for all home and away games, traveling with the team for all road games.
The position will assist with media relations efforts, including, but not limited to maintaining the media guide, game notes, roster, writing press releases, administering player interviews and writing all road recaps. Providing social media content with players and coaches while the team is both at home and on the road will be another primary role for the position. The Team Broadcaster and Communication Specialist will also be a spokesperson for the organization, attending and speaking at community events.

Job Questions:
The position will assist with media relations efforts, including, but not limited to maintaining the media guide, game notes, roster, writing press releases, administering player interviews and writing all road recaps. Broadcasting:
- Play-by-play for all 150 Tacoma Rainiers games, including traveling on the road with the team.
- Communicate with radio station and have control over commercial breaks during games as well as timing for the pre/post-game shows.
- Knowledge of broadcasting equipment for setup and tear down.
- Produce and edit social media content including player/coach interviews and other collaborative projects.
- Serve as community spokesperson for the organization attending local events while the team is at home or in the offseason.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Use Adobe & Microsoft suite to update sections of daily game notes, maintain roster, create lineup graphics, etc.
- Assist with all media relations efforts including issuing press releases, accommodating interview requests, administering media credentials, as well as other media information and related duties.
- Producing game information after all road games including game recaps and final score graphics.
- Assist with feature stories for "The Dirt" program and articles/press releases surrounding club information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Possess strong writing and verbal skills.
- Be willing to work with the entire front office to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Tacoma Rainiers, not just media relations/broadcasting.
- Knowledge of the rules of baseball and ability to quickly diagnose/explain to the listening audience what is happening in the game.
- Be willing to learn, work hard, handle multiple projects at once and maintain a professional, respectful attitude.
- Have experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Premiere and Audition) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in communication or related field.
- Knowledge of Triple-A and more specifically Pacific Coast League rules.
