Role: Technical Writer - Cyber Resiliency and Communication Planning (1-Year Contractor)
Onsite in Charlotte - Hybrid model - onsite 3 days a week.

As part of our mission to strengthen security protocols and ensure clear, strategic communication in response to cyber incidents, we are seeking a talented Technical Writer to join our team on a one-year contract.
Position Overview: We are looking for a Technical Writer with expertise in cyber resiliency and communication planning. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation that supports our cybersecurity strategy, incident response procedures, and communication plans. This includes working closely with cybersecurity, IT, and risk management teams to develop materials that are both technically accurate and accessible to a broad audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and edit documentation for cyber resiliency initiatives, including incident response plans, continuity procedures, and communication workflows.
- Create clear communication guides and templates for internal and external stakeholders to be used in the event of a cyber incident.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, and IT teams to translate technical processes and protocols into easily understood documentation.
- Organize and maintain secure documentation repositories, ensuring that all materials are up-to-date, version-controlled, and easily accessible.
- Review and improve existing documentation for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with cyber resiliency best practices.
- Support training materials and user guides related to incident response and cyber awareness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 3+ years of technical writing experience with a focus on cybersecurity, risk management, or related domains.
- Strong portfolio showcasing experience with cyber resiliency documentation, incident response plans, or communication strategies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and incident response best practices.
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Confluence, JIRA, and other content management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly convey complex, technical information.
- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) is a plus.
