POSITION TITLE: Content Marketing Associate
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $42,000-$45,000
Girl Scouts of Suffolk County is the largest youth-serving agency on Long Island. POSITION SUMMARY: The Content Marketing Associate will help enhance our organization's online presence through targeted marketing and communication strategies. With a primary focus on video creation, the person will be responsible for producing creative and informative content for our social media channels and website. In addition, they will use GSSC brand requirements, market trends, and best practices to plan and implement engaging communication that resonates with internal and external audiences.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist the Creative Director with marketing campaigns and brand communication.
- Create and publish short-form video content that promotes recruitment and highlights the mission and accomplishments of Girl Scouts in Suffolk County.
- Write original content for websites, social media, ads, blogs, online magazines, and announcements.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to produce content that aligns company goals and objectives with the needs of individual departments.
- Assist with the company's social media accounts and offer constructive user interaction. Generate, edit, publish, and share content (original text, images, video, or HTML) that builds meaningful connections in the communities we serve.
- Ensure that diversity and pluralizes are embraced and incorporated into the council's work.
- Collect and pitch stories or articles highlighting accomplished Girl Scouts, alumnae, Troop efforts of significance, and other reports highlighting the Council programs and our mission.
- Research industry trends and best practices and offer insight and suggestions for growth.
- Event and department support with videography, photography, and interviews, as needed.
- May perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in videography or marketing (e.g., communications, video production, journalism, public relations...) preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Internship or volunteer experience in content creation, public relations, advertising, marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred; strong writing, project coordination, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and analytics, including writing and editing social media posts and improving customer engagement; Suggest strategies to promote and evaluate the council's social media presence and performance; Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. Knowledge of Adobe Suite and the ability to share examples of pieces created.
- Attentiveness to details concerning writing, proofreading, managing deadlines, and scheduling your workload.
- Ability to deliver high-quality video editing.
- Capability to manage multiple creative projects simultaneously.
- Excellent creative skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable on camera or on-air representing the council as needed in the media in various communities.
