We have an opportunity for an experienced Learning Content Developer to join our HSE team. This role is critical in developing and enhancing training content aimed at improving workforce safety, reducing risks, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in instructional design, e-learning development, and content creation, while working to deliver engaging, effective learning solutions that drive safety and performance.
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
Travel: 20%
Key Responsibilities:
  • Instructional Design & Content Development: Develop clear, measurable learning objectives, and create engaging instructional materials and training aids to support HSE training programs.
  • Training Delivery Formats: Design and produce diverse training formats, including classroom training, hands-on workshops, virtual sessions, webinars, and e-learning modules to meet the needs of a dynamic workforce.
  • Adult Learning Principles: Apply adult learning theories and instructional design best practices to create effective, learner-centered training content.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key stakeholders (HSE managers, subject matter experts) to identify training gaps and design targeted learning solutions that meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Multimedia Integration: Incorporate various media formats (e.g., video, animations, interactive simulations, and audio) into learning programs to enhance engagement and reinforce key learning concepts.
  • Project Management: Lead the end-to-end project management of training initiatives, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends in learning technologies, and new tools to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of training programs.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences, both in-person and virtually.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work across organizational levels and with external vendors to develop impactful training solutions.
  • Time Management & Multitasking: Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, handling deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage large projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring that all deliverables meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, processes, and organizational changes in a dynamic setting.
  • Technology Proficiency: High proficiency in designing and developing eLearning content using platforms such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other eLearning authoring tools.
  • Learning Systems: Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and understanding the integration of content for optimal user experience.
  • Assessment Tools: Experience with operational training models, assessments, and measurement tools to evaluate training effectiveness and learner performance.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Learning and Development, or a related field. Certifications in Instructional Design or Adult Learning are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in instructional design, content development, or learning and development, ideally within safety, compliance, or industrial sectors (e.g., construction, oil and gas).
  • Software Skills: Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with content development tools such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Travel: Up to 20% travel required.
