Responsibilities:
As a Design Director at LightSpeed Studios, you will oversee the production development of a new and exciting game IP. Your role involves working closely with the Creative Director and core leadership team in defining and maintaining the design vision and delivery of features, ensuring it aligns with the game's overall creative direction and resonates with a global audience. This role requires spearheading a global design team, particularly focusing on collaboration with development units in China, Singapore, and other countries.

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $123,120.0 to $258,120.0 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.

Your role involves working closely with the Creative Director and core leadership team in defining and maintaining the design vision and delivery of features, ensuring it aligns with the game's overall creative direction and resonates with a global audience. This role requires spearheading a global design team, particularly focusing on collaboration with development units in China, Singapore, and other countries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the design vision and style of the game, ensuring a cohesive and immersive experience.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director and other directors to ensure design complements and enhances the game's narrative and gameplay.
- Build and lead a creative core design team. Also, mentor and inspire the broader team, promoting an environment that values creativity, professional growth, and diversity.
- Balance aesthetic design goals with technical constraints in collaboration with technical teams.
- Supervise the production of all game design assets, including 3Cs, AI design, system designs, level design, mission design, and UX.
- Maintain clear communication with the development team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment of design and project goals.
- A degree in an art-related domain or equivalent design experience.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in game design or related fields, with a demonstrated history of leading design teams.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in creating designs for open-world RPGs or similar genres.
- Participated in the full development cycle and shipped at least 1 complete AAA project.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating design talent and a keen eye for storytelling.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Open-minded and receptive to different cultures and ideas.
- Experience working with and leading teams from various countries around the world, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- A strong appreciation for diverse perspectives and the ability to integrate these into the creative process.
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
