Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to join our dynamic team. The Civil Designer will create detailed civil engineering designs and drawings for various infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, proficiency in design software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and other team members.
Duties
Design & Drafting:
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software.
- Review and update project drawings based on engineer and architect feedback.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates.
Collaboration:
- Perform site visits and inspections to gather data, take measurements, and ensure that construction activities comply with design specifications.
- Document site conditions and communicate findings to the project team.
Quality Assurance:
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project records as required.
- Assist in maintaining project files, including drawing logs, specifications, and as-built documents.
- Support the development of project schedules and monitor progress.
Project Management:
- Ensure that all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies and standards.
- Promote and adhere to safety practices in all phases of work.
Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all design work, including reports, calculations, and project records.
- Assist in the preparation of bid documents and construction specifications.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license
- Clean Background check
- Ability to communicate clearly via phone, virtual meetings, and in person.
Qualifications (required related experience)
- Knowledge of site planning, storm, water, wastewater, road design,
- Knowledge of Hydrology and Hydraulics design.
- Strong personal organizational and time management skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work with a group and on an individual basis
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of traffic design.
Education (required minimum education level):
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a commensurate experience
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficient with HydroCAD.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Projects, etc.)
