Job Description
St. Albans School is seeking an Assistant to provide administrative support services to the Executive Director of Development, Development Program Directors, and to the St. Albans School Development program, generally. Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Assistant will provide broad support over a varied range of activities.
Specifically, the well-qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Event Planning: Working with and supporting Development colleagues, manage the logistics and execution of engagement, cultivation, and stewardship events (NOTE: this does not include Reunions, which is managed by the Constituent Engagement team)
- Oversee event experiences from conception through post event review; manage onsite preparations, production, breakdown; ensure high level service throughout all phases
- Develop and create the visual aspects for invitations (both print and electronic,) venue location/design, and event and department marketing materials, websites and other media.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Development, inclusive of calendar management, travel itineraries, and expense reconciliation
- Supports the Executive Director of Development in managing the Development and Campaign budgets on an annual and rolling basis
- Schedule meetings for, and attends a notetaker at, Development Committee and/or campaign volunteer meetings as well as internal department meetings with Development staff
- Manages bulk mailings and internal mail distribution for the department; works with STA purchasing/operations team to ensure proper stock levels of office supplies for the department, and serves as the point of contact in managing external vendor orders to support campaign and fundraising initiatives
- Serves as the primary concierge by answering phones, receiving and welcoming visitors to the department, and directing constituents to the appropriate personnel when needed
- Exhibits strong collaboration with department colleagues, between constituents and the school, and departmental interdependencies
- Exhibits an ability to learn and grow in becoming an articulate champion of St. Albans School’s philanthropic endeavors as well as skilled in issuing expressions of appreciation to donors.

Professional Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Experience: Two years of work experience in a similar role
Education: A completed 4-year Bachelors’ Degree
Certifications: N/A
Preferred Qualifications:
- Administrative and/or development experience within an independent school setting;
- Has, or is willing and able to develop proficiency in use of technology: Raiser’s Edge database, Microsoft Office, etc.

- Demonstrates self-motivation, flexibility, problem solving, and commitment to innovation
- Exhibits excellent planning, prioritization, organization, multitasking, efficiency and follow-through in the execution of responsibilities
