Summary:
The ASPCA Communications Department is a passionate, collaborative team responsible for leveraging various communications channels to further the organization's mission of preventing cruelty to dogs, cats, equines, and farm animals throughout the United States.
As part of the Communications Department, the Influencer Outreach Assistant will work under Senior Manager, Social Media, to assist with social media monitoring and content creation, as needed. They will also work closely with Director, Media and Communications, to assist with influencer/celebrity outreach and engagement strategies, conduct social media listening, and assist with content creation that involves influencers and celebrities in support of the ASPCA's programs aimed at improving the lives of animals. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, organizing data, meeting scheduling and notes, maintaining databases with confidential celebrity/influencer information, building relationships with influencers, brainstorming compelling angles and writing pitches, tracking outreach lists, monitoring online conversations within multiple social media platforms and engaging as directed, and assisting with influencer/celebrity social media collaborations.
This is a hybrid on-site/remote position that requires at least 2 days on-site at our 8th Avenue Office or 92nd Street Office in New York City.

Compensation and benefits:
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
The target hiring range for this role is $25.00/hour - $26.45/hour

Influencer Outreach and Celebrity Engagement Support (50%)
- Maintain and build relationships with relevant influencers and social media contacts at media companies
- Identify and engage with up-and-coming influencers and celebrities, within ASPCA's growth target market
- Maintain and regularly update the database of influencers and celebrities
- Work with Senior Manager, Social Media, and Director, Media & Communications to develop influencer and celebrity outreach lists and ensure contact information is correct
- Collaborate with relevant teams and experts to form compelling pitch angles and outreach strategies to reach relevant influencers and celebrities in support of timely initiatives
- Draft social media language for celebrities and influencers to share in support of key ASPCA initiatives
- Assist with editing written communications for celebrity and influencer engagement, including ask letters, scripts, social media direct messages, thank you notes, etc.
- Brainstorm creative ideas to engage influencers and celebrities to support the ASPCA program areas
- Stay up-to-date with relevant celebrity news, especially pertaining to animals, and send around weekly updates to the team with news and engagement opportunity ideas
- Manage inventory of branded products and giveaways
- Coordinate mailing of products to celebrities and influencers, including new adopter gift packs
- Monitor the ASPCA social media channels for celebrity and influencer engagement opportunities and develop creative ways to build relationships, including commenting on relevant posts
- Leverage Sprout and native social media channels to monitor mentions and conversations around the ASPCA from influential accounts and individuals (both from a positive and negative perspective)
- Consistently update both Senior Manager and Director with any noteworthy celebrity/influencer engagements, especially during major initiatives
- Support social media content creation on the ASPCA channels with a focus on celebrities/influencers - Including, but not limited to, brainstorming ideas, capturing photos/videos, and, when needed, posting to social platforms
- Support Senior Manager, Social Media and social team with content creation on the ASPCA channels as needed
- Assist with cross-departmental projects related to influencer/celebrity engagement
- Help coordinate photo and video shoots with influencers and online media companies
- Assist with on-site celebrity/influencer activations at events, conferences, and ASPCA facilities alongside Senior Director, Events
- Assist Senior Manager, Social Media with events related to influencer engagement
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with various departments within the organization and with outside organizations
- Schedule meetings, facilitate brainstorms, create agendas, take meeting notes, and develop actionable next steps to keep projects organized and moving
- Provide full influencer and celebrity recaps once campaigns or initiatives have been completed
- Share successful celebrity and influencer activations on Workplace, or other online employee boards, for staff to see

- BA, BS, or equivalent professional experience
- 1+ year of social media experience required (internship or full time)
- Strong knowledge and interest in social media platforms, best practices, measurement tools, and current digital trends
- Professional experience leveraging social media channels like Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
- Keen sense of pop culture, celebrity/entertainment news, and online trends
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Computer, Internet, and social media savvy
- Strong Airtable and/or Excel skills required
- Ability to follow and keep abreast of animal welfare developments around the country
- Strong passion for animal welfare
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to travel for conferences and events a few times a year
- Must be able to conceive, draft, proofread and edit written materials
- Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to be available "on-call" during scheduled weekends
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines

- This position is based in our New York office, with the option for some remote days
