Job Description:

School of Music Recruiter

Coordinate undergraduate and graduate recruiting efforts for the School of Music, including attend in-state and out-of-state recruitment events.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Represent CMDA and serve as a point of contact for School of Music in-state and out-of-state recruitment events; coordinate recruiting events for prospective and incoming students, including orientations, tours, information fairs, campus events. Coordinate faculty, Music Ambassadors, and a student worker staff assigned to Music Admissions. 35%
  • Serve as liaison with the LSU Office of Enrollment Management. Provide information in timely communications with School of Music (SoM) faculty and prospective students throughout the recruitment cycle. Retrieve and process graduate application information. Manage the music admissions email account. Maintain current application/admitted student lists. Respond to scholarship inquiries. 20%
  • Plan and execute SoM Audition Days and Boot Camp for incoming freshmen. Schedule auditions in communications with faculty and incoming students. Use Slate technology. Reserve space. 20%
  • In conjunction with CMDA Marketing, oversee social media communications with prospective students and create promotional materials for recruiting. Manage SoM recruiting supplies inventory. 10%
  • Provide advising to School of Music incoming students. 10%
  • Special assignments/projects as assigned. 5%


Additional Requirements:
  • Vehicle Operation - University employees whose principal responsibilities of employment include operating a vehicle, performing maintenance on a vehicle, or supervising any public employee who operates or maintains a vehicle and positions with an expectation to travel will require an MVR and are subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04. A valid Driver's License is required.


Additional Information:
  • Travel as needed; flexible work hours to include nights and weekends; must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time; must be able to lift items 10-30 lbs as needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation required.

  • Education Level: Bachelor's
