Description of Job

The Music Fundraising and Alumni Outreach Coordinator is a full-time administrative professional position that is responsible for developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies to support the music department's programs and initiatives. This role also involves building and maintaining strong relationships with alumni, donors, and community partners to foster a culture of giving and engagement. The role involves working closely and coordinating with the CSU Pueblo Foundation, Alumni Relations Office, and the Marketing, Communications, Community Relations Office.

Primary Duties:
Fundraising:
  • Work with the Music Department Chair and Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences to plan, develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans and strategies; set annual fundraising goals.
  • Work closely with the CSU Pueblo Foundation to identify, cultivate and manage relationships with major donors, alumni, and corporate sponsors.
  • Identify eligible grant opportunities; write grant proposals and manage grant reporting.
  • Create compelling fundraising proposals and grant applications that effectively communicate our program needs and value to donors.
  • Plan, develop and implement creative fundraising campaigns, including events, solicitations, and social media initiatives.
  • Manage a fundraising portfolio; track and report progress towards achieving fundraising goals.
  • Keep abreast of current fundraising trends and best practices
Alumni Outreach:
  • Develop and implement alumni engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Work closely and coordinate regularly with the CSU Pueblo Alumni Relations Office.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date alumni database.
  • Organize alumni reunions, networking events, and other activities.
  • Foster a sense of community and belonging among alumni.
Community Partnerships:
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including local businesses, foundations, and arts organizations.
  • Work closely and coordinate regularly with the CSU Pueblo Marketing, Communications, Community Relations Office.
  • Collaborate with appropriate community partners on fundraising and outreach initiatives.
  • Represent the music department at community events and functions

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (non-profit management, business development, communications, etc.)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Commitment for supporting music, the arts and student success (explain in the required cover letter)
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, alumni relations, or a related field
  • Experience in positions or activities that required:
    •knowledge of best practices and techniques in fundraising and/or alumni relations
    •excellent verbal communication skills
    •strong organizational and time management skills
    •the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with, or commitment to, working in a diverse workplace
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Experience with donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce)
