Two applicants may be selected for an opportunity to serve up to a 120-day assignment in the position of Accountant, GS-13, for the Licensing Fiscal Unit of the Financial Management Section (FMD). This will be a short-term employment detail with no change in salary or a short-term temporary promotion depending on the qualifications of the employee(s) selected.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs accounting data analysis and reconciliation
- Performs investment and distribution management and analysis
- Prepares financial statements and reports
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Permanent, full-time employees within the Library of Congress in good standing with at least a satisfactory/successful performance rating that meet the minimum and required qualifications. Temporary and indefinite employees are not eligible.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a GS-13
- Must have at least one year at the GS-12 for a GS-13 Temporary Promotion.
- Must be one year since last Temporary Promotion.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls
- Ability to analyze the accounting and investment processes of the Licensing Division
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional, comprehensive knowledge of theories, practices, methods and techniques of accounting
- Knowledge of accounting, financial and performance auditing and tax auditing
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a STED/STEP opportunity with no expectation of permanent placement. The incumbent will work a flexitime or compflex schedule. The position is telework-eligible. The dates of this assignment are expected to be approximately December 29, 2024, through April 27, 2025. If the budget permits, rotations for additional qualified applicants may be available. The assignment may be extended at the option of the Copyright Office and agreement of all parties.
