As the IT Technology Support Analyst of Radio & Communications you will be responsible for the support and delivery of a broad range of radio & communications services for our Timberlands organization. This includes providing direction in the implementation, maintenance, and repair of complex electronic communications equipment. Provide technical expertise for the evaluation and implementation of services to the Weyerhaeuser business partners. This position will troubleshoot, service, and maintain two-way radio systems and wireless network equipment including satellite device technology. This role requires working in a radio repair environment supporting bench repairs and equipment installations and includes field servicing in industrial and remote radio locations. Knowledge and experience in radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF theory as it applies to wireless communications is needed.
Please note for candidates residing outside of Oregon heavy travel to the Oregon area will be required (approximately 2 weeks each month).
Primary Responsibilities:
Supports the technical roadmap for the Timberlands Radio and communications business needs.
Troubleshoot, service, and maintain two-way radio systems and wireless network equipment including satellite devices.
Builds successful relationships with other IT and Timberlands business partners by acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring fast, reliable, cost-effective delivery of radio & communication services to meet the needs of the business.
Provides radio & communications analysis, recommendations and effective implementation of s solutions and processes.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, advisory, and influencing skills and ability to convey technical radio technology information to non-technical audiences.
Must be able to interact with customer requests and demonstrate good troubleshooting skills to resolve issues accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist and communicate with radio service providers and vendors creating quotes and bids based on customer needs.
Travel will be required for this role in Oregon and Washington. A company vehicle will be assigned.
This position's primary location will be in the Springfield/Goshen, Oregon geographic area with primary responsibilities in Oregon as well as supporting team members in the Washington area.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory
Experience with Motorola Land Mobile Radio equipment, including repeaters, mobiles, control stations, and portables is required.
Possess a current ETA technician certification, FCC- GROL or Equivalent
Experience in diagnostics, repair, maintenance, program wireless communication equipment such as 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, antennas for customers.
A valid driver license and insurability in the state of residence.
Must be tower certified and/or willing to become tower certified. The position includes the inspection, management, and maintenance of 22 antenna structures some over 200 feet high.
Must have the ability to work in a complex radio systems environment that includes handhelds, towers, vehicles and satellite services with minimal supervision.
Able to use computer technology devices and programs to effectively troubleshoot, perform diagnostics and repair complex communication systems.
Job duties include regular lifting, carrying, and climbing
Working knowledge of current Microsoft office products and applications
Associate's degree, or equivalent experience (2 additional years of experience), is required
What We Offer:
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $79,300-$119,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
