General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Tactical Radio Test Engineer within the Scottsdale-based Land and Air Systems Engineering team. This position provides an opportunity to design and build uniquely resilient hardware and software to ensure mission success in contested environments. The team is focused on tactical communications that span many Department of Defense customers, including special restricted customers. In a collaborative environment, the team works closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Representative Responsibilities
Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software and hardware components
Perform debugging, testing, integration and optimization of tactical radios
Support internal radio integration and customer test events
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development and integration process
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company processes
What Sets You Apart
Experience with languages such as Python
Proven experience with integration of hardware and software, preferrably with radio devices
Experience with unit test frameworks and building integration and test environments
Additional Skills You May Have, Or Skills You Are Willing To Learn
Automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
Understanding of networking protocols
Cryptographic techniques
Strong desire to improve the test environment, increase test coverage, and willingness to grow the capabilities of the team

Clearance Requirement
Active DoD Secret clearance is desired, or required within 12 months after hire
Target salary range: USD $126,577.80/Yr. - USD $140,422.20/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
