Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Deputy Program Manager, Engineering within the Scottsdale-based Land and Air Systems Engineering team. This position provides an opportunity to design and build uniquely resilient hardware and software to ensure mission success in contested environments. The successful candidate will lead a multi-discipline team focused on tactical communications that span many Department of Defense customers, including special restricted customers. In a collaborative environment, the team works closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions
Representative Responsibilities
- Responsibility and ownership of technical scope, performance, cost, and schedule for all engineering efforts (including subcontractors)
- Plans, authorizes, monitors and reports the project team performance to leadership and customers
- Staffs the multi-discipline engineering project team with the appropriate personnel
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Engagement and support of new business pursuit and proposals, including cost and schedule estimation
- Collaborates with non-engineering disciplines such as program management, business / sales, finance, contracts, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, configuration management, safety

- Possess experience and knowledge of Radio product design and development, with a preferred history with tactical radios
- Personally driven to develop radios that exceed customer expectations, not just meet them
- History of effectively communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions to project team members and the leadership team
- Ability to work across a matrix organization while building a strong and collaborative relationship with key partners
- Demonstrated success with leading high-performing engineering design teams

Clearance Requirement

Target salary range: USD $173,321.00/Yr. - USD $192,278.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
