Salem Media Groups fast growing Salem News Channel is seeking an Evening Video Producer in our Glendale, CA location. SNC features Americas leading conservative commentators.

The Salem News Channel Video Producer is a wearer of many hats in the production of our Salem News Channel shows and content. An ideal candidate for this position is someone who has a passion for news and follows the news cycle closely. This person will also feel comfortable in the control room directing or switching live shows, running the teleprompter and interacting with talent. Interpersonal skills and teamwork will also be important traits, as this position will be interacting with talent and other team members daily.

Salem Media Group is one of Americas leading radio broadcasters, Internet content providers, and magazine and book publishers. The Salem News Channel launched in 2021 with the goal of achieving a leadership position in the expanding OTT/streaming Video landscape. SNC is now streaming on many of your favorite FAST distribution platforms such as SlingTV and Pluto TV and is live in 55 OTA TV markets.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Production, the video producer will assist in sourcing and editing clips and assets for production, assist in show planning and scheduling, as well as research, creating rundowns, proofreading and pitching topics. Production responsibilities include acting as a technical director, framing camera shots, ensuring show elements are loaded in the correct order and ready for playback, ensuring all team members are prepped and ready to produce the show, and ensuring the highest level of production and quality for the show. The Video Producer will also be responsible for writing headlines to run as lower third banners in the show. Post show, the Video Producer will be responsible for ensuring show files make it to the editor, and ultimately to air, choosing and cutting clips for social media, and assisting the show producer with any remaining tasks. The Video Producer will often need to make editorial judgments when editing shows in post-production. These duties will be assigned based on the show being worked on by the Director of Network Operations.

In addition to daily show production, our evening video producer will be responsible for additional tasks after production ends. These include, but are not limited to, creating video packages of newsworthy events to share with SNC shows, editing clips for air, assisting in filling in for other night time staff if needed, and monitoring the network for quality.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements:

• An eye for news and discerning what are the biggest topics of the day
• Experience creating show rundowns and working with talent on show prep
• Ability to start and end live streams, and troubleshoot if necessary
• Comfortable working with talent
• Willing to book guests for shows and work with show guests to ensure the highest quality guest appearances

• Must be able to report to our SNC studio in Glendale, CA from 1pm-9pm PT
• Must be well spoken, take direction well and be organized
• Proficient editing video using Adobe Premiere Pro
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Photoshop
• Experience switching video for live shows preferably using Ross and Newtek video switchers
• A general knowledge of production playback systems including Ross Xpression, Softron OnTheAir Video, Tricaster, Ross Carbonite, Blackmagic recorders, Allen and Heath audio mixers.

Compensation:
$55,000 - $75,000 annually depending on experience
