Salem Media Group, Inc is hiring: Part Time Weekend Video Operator in Irving

Overview:

Salem Media Groups fast growing Salem News Channel is seeking a Weekend Video Operator for SNCs Network Operations Center in Irving Texas. SNC features Americas leading conservative commentators.

The Salem News Channel Weekend Video Operator will be responsible for fulfilling scheduling requests, ensuring the quality of the network, cutting and posting videos for air, and enabling live coverage of breaking news events when needed.

The Weekend Video Operator will report to the Director of Network Operations for Salem News Channel. Previous experience in the disciplines as described above is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Addressing alerts from our monitoring systems when they arise
• Ensuring feeds are live before shows start, and contacting the local shows if issues arise
• Scheduling and Producing breaking live events on the network as needed
• Fulfilling scheduling requests from the GM or Network Producer
• Completing and posting show schedules and playlists
• Ensuring pre-recorded show files are present in the playout system
• Editing segments for air when required using Adobe Premiere Pro
• Transcoding files to fit the network required format and quality
• Uploading files into the Amagi cloudport playout server
• Inserting graphics during breaking news
• Taking and switching live coverage for press conferences, political rallies, and breaking news
• Contacting management in the event of issues or if important news breaks

Qualifications:

Position Requirements:

• Must be willing to learn new systems and adapt to changes. The systems and tools that we use are constantly being updated and improved, so flexibility is key.
• Good time management
• Attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with Amagi cloudport and scheduling systems are preferred but not mandatory (can be trained)
• Working knowledge of video editing, specifically in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience with video switchers, preferably Newtek Tricaster and Ross Carbonite
• Good interpersonal skills, this will help when dealing with the local shows.
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise
• Capable of meeting deadlines and quick turnarounds
• Interest in learning new skills

Compensation:
$12.00 to $15.00 per hour depending on experience
