Live Production Video Operations Director Apply locations Southlake, TX Time type: Full time Posted on: Posted 30+ Days Ago Job Requisition ID: R3011 Summary of Position: The Campus Video Operations Director plays a crucial role in the church Live Production Department, leading video operations across multiple campuses. This position demands strong leadership, technical expertise in video systems, and a strategic approach to ensure top-quality video experiences during worship services and events. Principal Job Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for video operations at all church campuses in alignment with Gateway Church’s Brand-guide standards. Collaborate with senior campus leadership to ensure video strategies align with the church's mission and objectives. Team Management: Oversee and manage video system engineers; maintaining enterprise video systems across all Gateway venues, oversee project management and operations along with systems support tickets. Train and develop processes for video technicians, operators and volunteers across all campuses. Cultivate a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the video team. Technical Expertise: Maintain advanced technical proficiency in video systems including cameras, video switchers, routers, character generators, playback/record decks, LED displays, projectors, and other destinations. Offer guidance and support to campus video staff and volunteers in setup, operation, and troubleshooting of video equipment. Production Planning and Execution: Collaborate with campus operations leadership to devise and implement video solutions for worship services, sermon capture, events, and special projects. Ensure seamless integration of video elements with other production components, such as audio, controls and lighting. Equipment Management: Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and inventory management of video equipment across all campuses including warehouse. Develop equipment upgrade plans and budget proposals to meet the evolving needs of the video team. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality assessments of video services and facilities to uphold high standards of excellence, including frequent attendance at services/events across all campuses. Continuously work to improve video quality gear and operational standards. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs, processes, resources, and procedures for video staff and volunteers to enhance their technical skills and knowledge of equipment and operations. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to foster professional growth and development within the video team. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for video operations across all campuses. Implement safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks during rehearsals, services, and events across all campuses. Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for video equipment rentals, repairs, and technical support. Manage vendor relationships to secure cost-effective solutions and timely service delivery. General Skills & Qualifications: Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the capacity to learn new software and systems like Slack, Monday.com, etc. Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Broadcasting, or related field is preferred. Extensive experience in live video production, preferably in a church or event setting. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Advanced knowledge of video systems and production techniques. Proficiency with video editing software, video switchers, and visual effects tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Commitment to the mission and values of the church, with a passion for leveraging video technology to enrich worship and sermon experiences to engage the congregation. General Requirements: Must have a flexible schedule with availability to work weekdays, weekends, and special events. Must be available to work a minimum of 3 weekends per month. Employee will be allowed to take Thursday and/or Friday to compensate any weekends worked. Salaried positions will require a minimum of 40 hours per week with an average of 45-50 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Sit/stand for long periods of time. Occasionally kneel or crouch.
