JOB SUMMARY:
- We are currently searching for a full time Director of Live Video to manage all aspects of our video department. Job duties may also include supporting the Access Audio team in continuing to grow the organization while always providing excellent service to our clients.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in discussing needs and advancing all shows with clients, specifically technical video
needs and day-of-show details. The emphasis here is understanding the run of show/needs,
staffing requirements, arrival times, specifying specific equipment, power and venue
requirements, and other details
• Prep and pack video equipment going out on rentals, ensuring order accuracy and anticipating
customer needs and contingencies
• Direct the setup, placement, and rigging of video systems
• Operate video switchers with multiple sources and destinations
• Projection rigging, converging and focusing
• LED wall setup and calibration, and taking and executing cues from technical director, project
manager or stage manager
• Interface with production managers, technical directors, stage managers, and/or clients directly
• Provide design ideas and solutions during on-site set up and rehearsals
• Responsible for safe and consistent operation of video equipment and rigging tools/instruments
• Drive box trucks, up to 24’ non-CDL for deliveries and pick-ups
• Deliver, place, and set up video equipment. Serve as the on-site video director/technician as
dictated by the needs of the event
• Inventory, test, and check video equipment returning from rentals and return to service
• Carry out preventive maintenance and repair for all video inventory, equipment, and cables. Make
or facilitate necessary repairs
• Assist in improving and implementing an organized system for handling day-to-day tasks and
operations within the rental shop. Assist in prioritizing and delegating the daily workflow to
maximize productivity
• Identify and communicate clear project objectives and goals
• Project a positive image for the company at all times and build relationships with service
providers, vendors, contractors, and customers
• Find ways to improve client satisfaction both internally and externally
• Provide leadership and direction for all Projection projects and services
• Provide leadership in trucking and vehicle maintenance
• Develop and support comprehensive computer and networking plan for shop and show
requirements
• Provide leadership in equipment repairs
• Create equipment maintenance plan for rental gear and facility
• Assist with customer installations as needed
• Become in house ProPresenter Expect
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• 2+ years relevant recent video streaming experience in wide variety of event venues
• Absen LED video wall experience preferred with experience in Adaptive Technology LED wall support
• Must be well versed in both Mac and PC computers, basic file management, video codecs, drive
formatting, editing videos, ProPresenter, Powerpoint, Keynote, and general graphics support
• Ability to pay attention, adapt to changes, and function well in a live production setting
• Experience leading and building into a team of other A/V/L staff
• Highly organized with solid attention to detail. We’re looking for meticulous and we’re looking for
someone to build and perfect systems of organization
• Must have a self-starter personality and the ability to work independently, troubleshoot and
problem-solve
• Exceptional communication skills with team, customers, and vendors
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of and passion for the mission of the organization
• Commitment to "The Hills We Die On”
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. The ability to drive a non-CDL 24’ box truck is
required
• Ability to drive and operate a fork truck
• Ability to work weekdays and weekends—including some nights
• Ability to work in difficult weather conditions such as heat, cold and rain
• Ability to walk up and down stairs or ladders
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass a basic background check
COMPENSATION AND HOURS:
• This is a full-time position and will include both shop and show work. Hours will vary based on
customer needs. Pay commensurate with skills and experience.
