Engineering level Technical Writer in the Rail Construction Industry
- Develop, revise, and maintain standard engineering specifications in the rail industry;
- Develop technical documents to support design, construction, contracts, and operation processes for capital and non-capital projects;
- Develop and revise solicitation documents, including but not limited to, Statement of Work, Requests for information, and/or requests for bids/proposals;
- Prepare policy and procedure documentation;
- Maintain the most up-to-date versions of technical standards in an orderly manner;
- Conduct timely technical reviews of draft documents; and
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Task Manager.
Background and Experience Required for Specification Writers
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in preparing technical specification and documents for rail transit projects;
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments within quasi-Government facility;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (entire suite);
- Ability to write clearly and professionally;
- Ability to produce communications quickly, efficiently, and to a high standard; and
- General knowledge of rail transit agencies' design, construction, contracts, and operations process.
