Overview:

BlueWater Federal is looking for a CX/UX Specialist to support a FEMA program

100% remote work

FEMA requires additional digital communication services to implement user-friendly and accessible updates to FEMA.gov and the FEMA App that improve the customer experience (CX) and ensure clear communication about agency initiatives being rolled out in 2024.



Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of plans to conduct a customer-focused study on emergency managers and other prospective students of FEMAs training programs, specifically their experience with getting training information, signing up for trainings, and post-training activities on FEMAs websites.
  • Leverage customer experience best practices for engaging real customers, current and prospective students and learners and provide insights on customer types, pain points, and opportunities to improve web content, design and services to better meet needs.
  • Define design and development activities related to suggested improvements and work with FEMA web team and program office teams to prioritize which improvements to take action on.
  • Support the development of new web content and website features by creating wireframes, design comps, and other design products that improve the experience for website visitors seeking training content while also ensuring visual consistency.
  • Leverage human centered design principles to identify the best design solutions and incorporate feedback from FEMA staff and users to refine design products for development.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing and leading UX strategies for web and mobile applications. Ability to create user personas, journey maps, and strategic plans that guide human-centered design practices across projects.
  • Experience in overseeing the execution of UX strategies and ensuring alignment with overall project goals and organizational standards.
  • Expertise in conducting user research, usability testing, and analyzing user feedback. Ability to translate insights into actionable design improvements and strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing design systems and component libraries. Advanced skills in design tools such as Axure, Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Ability to identify complex UX issues and develop innovative solutions. Strong analytical skills to evaluate user behavior and design impact.
  • Must have or be eligible for a High-risk Public Trust; US Citizenship required
