Department Summary

Our programming teams draw on a variety of communication and networking expertise to connect DISH TV and Sling TV with partners across the world. They build upon our relationships with collaborators and leads, negotiate high-level contracts and work with content creators to drive creative solutions for our business and brand.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Are you passionate about television and movies? DISH is looking for a Content Acquisition Lead to join its content acquisition team! This position will be an integral part of the Latino Programming Team, which acquires TV and video-on-demand rights from national content partners (e.g. Univision, Telemundo) for distribution via Echostar’s satellite television and internet platforms (DISH Network and Sling TV).

 

The Programming Team uses its deep understanding of the television business to guide DISH’s programming strategy, manage ongoing business and relationships with programming partners, and negotiate content acquisition and renewal deals.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Assisting in DISH’s preparation process for upcoming negotiations with content partners
  • Participating in content acquisition discussions as well as renewal negotiations with our content partners
  • Contractual analysis of our programming agreements with support from members of DISH’s legal team
  • Creating analyses on network viewership and financials to support and inform discussions with content partners
  • Proactive analysis of the latest trends in media and pay TV industries to drive internal content strategy and identify business opportunities

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; MBA or JD is a plus but not a requirement
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, together with knowledge about the U.S. Hispanic consumer
  • A passion for (or desire to learn about) the Spanish-language television and video business
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capability to build and maintain strong internal and external business relationships
  • Detail oriented with ability to review and analyze a large volume of quantitative and qualitative data (Excel skills an advantage); ability to think creatively and independently as well as collaboratively
  • Comfortable reading and understanding contract language
  • Desire to work in a high-performance environment and work on transactions of significant strategic importance

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $72,350.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
