Job Description:

This position is open exclusively to current Students at Owens Community College who are eligible for Student Employment and / or Federal Work-Study.

The College is seeking current Student(s) who is eligible, qualified, and available on Mondays 9:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesdays 4:00-8:00, and alternating Saturdays 10:00-4:00. Working hours could possibly expand or change in future weeks or months.

Library Assistants help with routine daily tasks such as greeting patrons, check-out/in resources, interlibrary lending, and answering telephone & in-person general information questions.

Essential Functions:

* Provide staffing for the circulation desk

* Greet visitors and answer telephones

* Answer questions and provide information

* Check materials in and out for library users

* Shelve materials in all areas of the library

* Read shelves periodically to maintain order

* Assist with circulation duties

* Assist Librarians with projects

Minimum level of education needed to satisfactorily perform duties:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Information:

Library Assistants may rotate periodic shifts in addition to their regular shifts. Candidates must be available to work some evenings until 8:00 p.m. and some Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
