Pay Range: $20.65 - $21.00

Plans, coordinates, and directs the functions of the School of Music program; ensures the quality of programs and safety of youth at all times; provides guidance and role modeling to youth and ensures safety and a positive experience for the students.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Some physical requirements of the position could be endurance including standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate music equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate musical activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

About this opportunity:
Plans, coordinates, and directs the functions of the School of Music program; ensures the quality of programs and safety of youth at all times; provides guidance and role modeling to youth and ensures safety and a positive experience for the students.
Key responsibilities:
- Provides quality music instruction to students.
- Manages care of instruments during class, with necessary repairs immediately reported to the Corps Officers and processed.
- Maintains discipline and acceptable behaviors of students, which will create an atmosphere of friendliness and security during all program periods, enabling all students to feel welcome and comfortable.
- Performs special projects/ other related work as required.
What we are looking for in you:
- At least six (6) months experience teaching music education and teaching experience, with the ability to play and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student preferred; OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid State Drivers' License preferred
