We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Editor to join our team. This role requires a professional who excels in editing content for clarity, grammar, and style while possessing the creative skills to produce compelling written material. The ideal candidate is a meticulous editor, a strong writer, and a collaborative team player who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review, edit, and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to the company style guidelines. Edit content to ensure alignment with government solicitation guidelines, including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. Refine and enhance the tone, structure, and style of content to align with target audience expectations. Ensure all content is clear, concise, and free of errors. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to clarify technical content and align with government requirements. Collaborate with other stakeholders to provide constructive feedback and improve overall content quality. All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Proven experience as an editor and writer, with a strong portfolio showcasing editing and writing skills. CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exceptional command of grammar, syntax, and style. Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and editing tools (e.g., Grammarly, AP Stylebook). Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or collaboratively while managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ingenuity with the ability to effectively achieve organizational established goals and objectives. WORKING CONDITIONS
Capacity to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus in an office environment. Ability to climb stairs, as the building does not have elevator access. SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider. Daily travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle). Requires 0% - 5% travel.
