Position Summary:
As the Marketing Event Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating all tradeshows, conferences and hosted events for Discovery Life Sciences. This is an individual contributor position which will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to ensure our participation at events align with our strategic goals and enhance our brand visibility within the biopharma and diagnostics community.
A Day in the Life of a Marketing Event Manager at Discovery Life Sciences:
Oversee the processes, coordination, management and execution of Discovery’s presence in industry events and hosted events Partner with marketing, sales, and scientific colleagues to develop impactful event marketing creative, commercial enablement and promotional materials for events Manage communications from pre-event through post-event to ensure event success Negotiate and manage contracts with event organizers, vendors and suppliers Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in related marketing, communications, or event management equivalent field. 5+ years of experience in event management, with a focus on trade shows and conferences, preferably in the life sciences or related industry. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events and coordinating cross-functional teams. Strong budget management skills, with experience in negotiating contracts and managing expenses. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. Proficiency with event management software and tools. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with company objectives and enhances brand presence at trade shows and conferences. Lead the planning and execution of all event logistics, including venue selection, booth design, and coordination of on-site activities. Continually develop innovative and creative strategies that enhance Discovery’s positioning, impact and efficiency through our events channel Work with commercial leadership to ensure event lead qualification, capture, and velocity are executed with excellence Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure that all event-related activities support broader business goals Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and venue managers to secure favorable terms and pricing Identify and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and partners to ensure high-quality event execution Oversee the selection and management of event staff Create and execute pre-event and post-event communication plans to maximize engagement and ROI Collaborate with marketing to leverage digital and social media channels for event promotion Oversee all on-site event operations, including booth setup, staff coordination, and troubleshooting Ensure a seamless experience for attendees, addressing any issues promptly and effectively Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event, including gathering feedback, analyzing performance metrics, and identifying areas for improvement Compensation and Benefits:

The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to your qualifications, skills, and experience.
