Spruce Flowers and Events is hiring: Floral Designer in Minneapolis

A NEW-FASHIONED APPROACH TO FLORISTRY

At Spruce, we consider ourselves a new-fashioned flower design studio. While rooted in exceptional design and old-fashioned service, we are driven by innovating and improving the experience of sending flowers. From providing a website that makes it easy to order from our collections online, to providing custom arrangements with our "Creative Director" option, we want to make sure the process of ordering flowers with Spruce is above and beyond the industry standard. We employ technology to communicate with our customers at every step of the order process. From our online store front to sending a photo of the "Creative Director" bouquet our clients trusted us to make, and sending the lucky recipient a heads-up text when we're on our way with their delivery.

We are looking for a full time experienced Floral Designer with two years experience to join our team.

Your part as a Floral Designer.

Left or right, you don’t choose favorites when it comes to your brain. You’ll need both spheres to be part of the Spruce team. A keen eye for design is natural for you, but you’re also able to solve problems and get things done in an efficient manner sometimes to exacting deadlines. Our core mission is to make people happy, and to connect people with flowers. Your ability to create works of art, and think creatively to ensure that our products make people feel good is paramount to your success at Spruce. You will wear many hats, from aforementioned happy-maker, to a keen eye and passion for design, to being able to confidently problem solve with competent computer and technology skills. As a designer at Spruce, you will need to bring a core set of skills to succeed. You’ll be able to stretch and grow your creativity, but also be humbled by taking pride in keeping a neat and tidy work environment. (ie: taking out the trash or cleaning buckets!) We operate foam free whenever possible so your floral skills are key to ensure the construction of beautiful arrangements that reach our clients in peak condition.

DESIGN

Our simple and organic approach to design relies on allowing the flowers to do what they do best: make us feel good while bringing beauty into our lives. We are (super!) passionate about high quality flowers and live to share our love of them with others through each and every arrangement our design team carefully assembles. Whether we are creating a custom arrangement or collaborating over flowers for a special event, or helping our clients select the right plant, we love to witness the joy and wonder that flowers and plants bring to their lives.

Spruce Flowers is excited to give an opportunity to either an experienced Floral Designer, joining its team based in our Northeast Minneapolis studio, on a full time basis. Our ideal candidates will have at least 2 years floral design experience and be ready to work with our established design team, creating innovative and creative floral arrangements.

Our approach to retail floristry is different than many traditional florists and our work reflects that. We do not have a retail store front so as a Designer you are able to concentrate on the design and production of the arrangements. We strive constantly to innovate and lead by creating arrangements that celebrate life and bring a connection with nature to each recipient, as well as outstanding levels of service to our clients through proactive and effective communication.

You will be required to

• Have the ability to work well in fast-paced environment.

• High levels of enthusiasm and self-motivation to succeed.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs regularly

Team members manage the following responsibilities on a daily basis:

• Fresh flower preparation and processing.
• Floral design and development - Creating daily deliveries from our in house recipes and using cues from our clients, consistently every day. Giving input into creating new variations and designs to our floral collections.
• Design and formatting of event productions from conception through realization & delivery.
• Technologically adept ,able to use multiple electronic platforms and Apps, able to consistently demonstrate outstanding communication skills to assist clients.
