About the role
This is one of two VP Marketing roles sitting within the US Specialty Business Unit, the other being the VP of Marketing for Respiratory Biologics. This role is responsible for the leading and delivering results for Benlysta and the Hepatology Portfolio - a team consisting of around 16 co-workers led by 2 Sr Directors Marketing.
The VP Immunology Marketing will provide strategic direction for US Commercial Specialty Business, managing budget and allocating resources to meet or exceed GSK US Sales, profit and strategic goals.
In this role and together with the VP, US Specialty Sales, you will have accountability for 1 promoted in market blockbuster brand, growing double digits in Rheumatology & Nephrology, and 2 Hepatology assets in launch preparation for next two years.
This role will also work together with VP Marketing, Respiratory Biologics, who also reports to the SVP Specialty Business Unit, to lead all aspects of the Marketing team and function in the US Specialty Business Unit, from short term operational execution to long term strategic portfolio choices, driving business results & achieving targets. Last, partner with the Global Specialty Product Strategy team for early development assets to align on strategic imperatives forecast, market research and market insight sharing.
Key responsibilities Accountable for achieving forecast goals, and operating profit. Allocates SG&A budget via Operational Planning process, and monitors budget effectively throughout the year to minimize waste and maximize return. Responsible for all aspects of commercialization for an inline immunology asset and emerging hepatology portfolio Approve, in partnership with Forecasting and Finance, development of product volume and financial forecasts including Long Range Forecast, Annual Plan, and monthly Latest Estimates. Develops and evaluates innovative marketing strategies to maximize sales/profitability in all segments of the US Specialty market (clinic, hospital, retail) Leads development of pricing and contracting strategies to optimize market penetration, market share, and margin performance in relevant reimbursement scenarios across the clinic, hospital and emerging markets. Works with Managed Markets/ contracting to ensure access for GSK Specialty products with enterprise customers (i.e. CMS, Medicaid, Military, Kaiser, and Managed Care) Develop a strong leadership pipeline; recruit, develop and retain a high caliber team across diverse departments. Visibly lead our Values, talent management and engagement, and ensure strong individual career and leadership development plans. Additionally, contribute to broader enterprise-wide initiatives and opportunities via the Specialty BU Leadership Team, Marketing Leadership Team as well as the US Commercial executive team.

Basic qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent level qualification in Science, Business, Finance, or Marketing. Minimum of 15 years progressive experience, including both sales and marketing leadership within the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in multiple marketing leadership positions. Brand-level P&L management. Senior leadership experience as a second-line leader. Experience in both direct line and matrix management and serving on leadership teams. A minimum of 5 years Specialty Pharma Marketing experience. Preferred qualifications
MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Brand management experience including developing product strategies and product positioning programs. Product launch experience. Demonstrated ability to successfully influence others in matrix environment. Therapeutic area / rare disease experience Background in business unit leadership / general management. Understanding of the US managed marketplace including the ability to exhibit outstanding business judgement as demonstrated by a track record in planning, marketing, sales and analytical roles. Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics unique to the US speciality medicine space. Proven ability and credibility to influence at multiple levels to secure resources needed to build and support a new business capability. Track record of success leading and embedding change and inspirationally leading your team through periods of change. Track record of inspirational leadership success in guiding your team through periods of change and embedding lasting improvements.
