Technical Designer(s) (full-time, multiple openings) needed in Washington, DC to consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of structures, and plan layouts of structural architectural projects. Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, and materials used. Perform predesign services, such as feasibility or environmental impact studies. Collaborate and communicate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors and regulatory agencies to resolve complex technical and design issues to meet overall project objectives, and ensure builder compliance with design specifications, and advise on design corrections. Establish design standards, space planning, and programming based on clients' functional and spatial requirements while meeting conceptual design goals. Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design (graphic presentations, physical models, 2D/3D renderings), design development, construction documents and production for core and shell architecture projects.

Must have a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus three (3) years of design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with all of the following:

(1) Translating an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images using 2D/3D software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds MAX, Bluebeam Revu, and Rhino and preparing conceptual design and graphic presentations utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Enscape, and SketchUp;

(2) Preparing full Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document sets in Autodesk Revit;

(3) Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper;

(4) Producing high quality renderings, site plans, sections, elevations, and construction details for hospitality, multifamily residential, and senior living clients;

(5) Coordinating with General Contractor, Structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Lighting, Façade, Acoustics, AV, interiors, civil, landscape, wind, and other consultants;

(6) Construction Administration experience with hospitality, multifamily residential, and senior living clients and working knowledge of construction materials, construction techniques, building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures;

(7) Facilitating multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with General Contractor, Structural, MEP, Lighting, Façade, Acoustics, AV, landscape, wind, interiors, civil consultants, and working directly with contractors; AND

(8) Developing material EHD (Environmental Health Declaration) analysis for project material specifications.

All experience may be acquired concurrently. Incidental telecommuting may apply.

The base salary range is $72,363.00 to $94,200.00, commensurate with relevant experience. In addition, standard benefits will be offered, and employees will be eligible for bonuses.
