Freelance Sr Designer or Director Cold Weather/Soft Accessories

Our client is looking for a senior or director level designer with a focus on soft accessories/cold weather with a top fashion company. Full time freelance assignment starting mid-January with a top company. This role is covering a maternity leave or approximately 4-6 months. Hybrid schedule in their midtown NYC office.

Responsibilities:

• Merchandising experience/knows how to edit
• Experience with soft accessories
• Experience with licensed categories
• Very strong project management/time management skills- can handle the calendars and deadlines of multiple brands
• Strong interpersonal skills, has experience working with outside brands/customers and can manage/stay calm in challenging situations- this is very important
• Experience managing a team- is a problem solver
• Has a high taste level with an innovative design approach while being able to work within and analyze different price points

Required Qualifications:

• Better design aesthetic within the accessories industry
• Strong concept thru development skills
• Illustrator and PLM experience
